About Us

Barbara Hooton School of Dancing has been providing high-quality dance training for children, young people and adults for many years. We are committed to delivering a safe, enjoyable and professional environment where every student has the opportunity to learn, develop and achieve their full potential.

Enrolment

Students wishing to join Barbara Hooton School of Dancing must complete the appropriate registration process.

For students under the age of 18, registration must be completed by a parent or legal guardian.

Places are offered subject to availability and may be limited for certain classes.

The school reserves the right to determine appropriate class placement based on age, experience and ability.

Fees and Payments

Class fees are payable in advance unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed.

Payment deadlines will be advised at the beginning of each term.

Late payments may result in a student's place being suspended until payment has been received.

Barbara Hooton School of Dancing reserves the right to amend fees. Any changes will be communicated in advance.

Cancellations and Withdrawals

If you wish to withdraw from classes, we ask that you notify the school as soon as possible.

Fees already paid are generally non-refundable except where required by law or at the discretion of the school.

Should Barbara Hooton School of Dancing need to cancel a class due to unforeseen circumstances, every effort will be made to offer an alternative class or suitable arrangement.

The school cannot be held responsible for cancellations caused by severe weather, government restrictions, venue closures or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Attendance

Regular attendance is encouraged to help students develop their skills and confidence.

Students should arrive promptly for classes and be collected on time where appropriate.

Repeated absence without notification may result in a student's place being offered to another individual where classes are full.

Behaviour

All students are expected to:

  • Treat teachers, staff and fellow students with kindness and respect.

  • Follow the instructions of teaching staff.

  • Behave in a safe and responsible manner.

  • Respect the dance studios, equipment and facilities.

Bullying, abusive behaviour, discrimination or persistent disruption will not be tolerated.

Barbara Hooton School of Dancing reserves the right to refuse entry or terminate enrolment where behaviour is considered unacceptable.

Dress Code

Students should attend classes wearing the appropriate uniform or dance clothing as advised by the school.

Hair should be securely tied back where required.

Jewellery should be kept to a minimum for safety reasons.

Correct footwear should always be worn for each style of dance.

Health and Safety

Students (or parents and guardians) must inform the school of any medical conditions, allergies, injuries or additional needs that may affect participation.

While every reasonable care is taken to provide a safe learning environment, dance is a physical activity and participation is undertaken at the student's own risk.

Barbara Hooton School of Dancing accepts no responsibility for injuries unless caused by proven negligence.

Photography and Video Recording

Photographs and video recordings may be taken during classes, rehearsals, performances or events.

Images will only be used for promotional purposes where appropriate permission has been obtained.
